Obituary for Irving F. Mott

Irving F. Mott
June 18, 1962 - April 23, 2018
Resident of Cupertino
Irving F. Mott passed away in Los Altos after a long illness. He was 55. Irving was born in Mountain View, California on June 18, 1962. He grew up in Mountain View, attended St. Francis High School and graduated from Awalt High School in 1980. A motorcycle accident in 1981 paralyzed him and left him in a wheelchair. However, this never hindered him from living independently and having an extraordinary life. A lifelong learner, he received an AA from De Anza College, and a BS from San Jose State. He worked security at Shoreline Amphitheatre, sales at Opcode Systems, and Checkpoint Software. He was an avid musician; an inquisitive and curious inventor of electronics, contraptions, and gizmos.
He is survived by his mother, Rosalie Person; his brothers, Garrett Person and Derek Person; his sister-in-law Jessica Person; his nephew and niece; and his dog, Bingo. Irving was preceded in death by his father, Ralph E. Person, and his grandmother Mae Mott.
A memorial mass is planned on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 1:30pm at St. William Church, 611 S El Monte Ave, Los Altos, CA. Arrangements are under the care of Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Irving’s name to The Humane Society of Silicon Valley would be preferred.
