Patricia Keegan Dillon of Palo Alto, CA passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the age of 98. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard J. Dillon to whom she had been married for 73 years. Patricia is survived by her six children: William (Suzette), David (Colleen), Mary, Margaret (Joel Henner), Timothy, and Thomas (Grethe). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her twin sister Paula Doherty, and four additional sisters, Margaret Hart, Jane Teah, Rita Langham and Mary Louise LeMense.
Patricia was born in Spring Valley, IL. After her marriage to Bernard, they raised their family in Buffalo, NY and Albany, NY. In later years they resided near family in Edina, MN and Palo Alto, CA. Patricia had received her bachelor’s degree in Library Science from Rosary College in River Forest, IL. When her children were older, she returned to work and spent her career as a librarian in public school districts in the Buffalo and Albany areas while continuing with graduate studies to support her role as an accredited educator.
Of significance throughout her life was Patricia’s Catholic faith. Wherever she lived, she was an active member of her parish. She was always generous in helping her children with their children. Patricia was an avid gardener and meticulous seamstress throughout her lifetime.
Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, July 22 from 3-5 pm at the Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary, 96 West El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA. A Funeral Mass in remembrance of Patricia’s life will be held on Monday, July 23 at 11 am at St Albert the Great Church, 1095 Channing Avenue, Palo Alto, CA. Gravesite services will be held immediately following the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Menlo Park.
